Balikpapan — PT Mitra Murni Perkasa (MMP) has officially entered the Power On phase for a high-grade nickel matte smelter in the Kariangau industrial area, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on June 26, 2025. This achievement is an important milestone in MMP’s journey as a nickel matte smelter built with 100% domestic investment (PMDN).
The MMP smelter has a capacity of up to 28,000 metric tons of high-grade nickel matte per year, using Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) 2 x 48 MVA technology equipped with a modern converter, supported by REC-certified electricity from PLN.
“Today we are not only turning on the system, but also a symbol of the hope, hard work, and great determination of the nation’s children in encouraging national downstreaming,” said MMP President Director Adhi Dharma Mustopo.
